U.S. &Amp; Bvi Boat Charter Rent A Boat That Will Make Everyone Happy

Submitted by: Leigh Woeller

When choosing a charter boat to take your group across the crystal clear waters of the U.S.V.I. and British Virgin Islands, you want to make sure that everyone has a great time. The key in having a great day vs. just a good day is not only the captain or the destination…it s the kind of boat you choose to get there.

Unfortunately, most charter boats are pretty basic and not very comfortable. The most commonly used boat for charter is a center console fishing boat. Center console boats are pretty utilitarian, with only shade for the driver. The seating is limited (and not very comfortable), and if you re sitting in the back of the boat, the engines drown out any chance of conversation.

Most center console boats don t have padded seating, so you re sitting on hard fiberglass seats that are slippery when wet. If there s any wave activity at all while you re moving, you ll likely come away sore from the pounding your lower back will take. And storage? Hardly. It s tough to keep things dry on a center console boat.

Center console charter boats are light on amenities, too. You won t find a refrigerator to cool drinks, on-board toilets are rare, and the only quick way out of the boat is over the side. Getting back in form the water means climbing over the engines and the back transom. If you re a little older or carrying a few extra lbs., it can be a real challenge. If you re not a big swimmer but want to get some sun, good luck on a center console boat–there s really nowhere to lay down for an even tan, except maybe on the floor.

So, how can you rent a boat that will make everyone happy?

Things To Look For in a Charter Boat

Look for a charter company with a more feature-rich boat for a better experience. The best USVI or BVI boat charter rentals aren t necessarily more expensive–just more fun! Women especially want a boat that has padded, upholstered seating. They also like the large swim steps off the back of the boat, so everyone in your party has room to easily get on and off the boat, adjust snorkel gear, and safely exit and enter the water. On board toilets are highly sought after, too. For sun lovers, a big sun pad can be a great way to get an even tan without getting in anyone s way.

Finally, you want a way to get out of the elements – a cover from the sun, a windshield from the wind and water spray, etc. The elements can sometimes be overbearing and you don’t want to mess up your day from this. Make certain the you have all of these check for you to get the most of the sun, sea and shore that US and BVI offer.

The British Virgin Islands and US Virgin Islands are unbelievably beautiful. Maximize your enjoyment on your next boat excursion – get a boat with enough creature features to make everyone happy!
